OK, I’ve really slacked off with forecasts. To be fair, I’m in the waining revisions of a dissertation on weather that I’ve basically been working on for five years. At this point, I hate weather. That said, a forecast was requested, and I cannot deny my readers.
Tomorrow looks amazing. The high for the day will probably be in the mid-80s, and there’s zero chance of rain. There’s going to be little rain, little humidity, and really nothing to worry about. If anything, a light sweatshirt may be in order if you plan on sticking around for the Indy Lights race afterwards and you’re one of those girls who is always cold.
Thus, the official iiMy forecast!
- Approx. Green Flag Time: 6:30 EDT
- Temperature: 79°F
- Dew Point: 55°F
- Relative Humidity: 44%
- Winds: Variable at a few mph
- Chance of Rain: 0%
- Will We Race: Yes

According to Kevin Savoree, via Curt Cavin, TK has re-upped for five years with Andretti Green Racing. This comes about a day after Robin Miller said he was going to Ganassi. With TK staying, any uncertainty in the big three probably centers around Hideki Mutoh, but if Honda says he stays, I’m guessing he stays.

Robin Miller is reporting that TK will be on his way to Target Chip Ganassi Racing. If true, it leaves Dan Wheldon and Alex Lloyd in odd situations. Wheldon would be expected to go play the role of veteran at Andretti Green Racing, but AGR has Rafa Matos and Franck Montagny sitting around in different places itching for a ride. Wheldon’s lack of performance on road courses has left him in Dixon’s wake. Lloyd hasn’t had the chance to even run, and I think that his contract would likely be terminated unless Ganassi can farm him out.
I can’t really see Wheldon going to AGR, but I don’t know where else he’d fit in. He’s a good driver, but I don’t know that he’ll get paid what he’s used to at any team other than the big three. He’s a good driver, but he doesn’t have a check in hand. That puts him in an awkward situation.

People who know me well know that I kind of have a problem with authority. If I’ve got a complaint, I’ll more than freely speak my mind. Well, with Kentucky two days away and the upcoming Versus announcement, I’ve determined that whining isn’t the best action at this point. Most of my family lives in Cincinnati. If I’m home for a weekend, I sure as heck want to be able to watch a race. Well, Time Warner in Cincinnati doesn’t offer Versus whatsoever.
Therefore, I’ve made a flier to be handed out at the Kentucky race. I won’t be attending, but hopefully Cousins Joe and Teddy will print some off and hand them out, as well as some other readers. It’s available as a Word Document or a PDF. It’s in black-and-white for easy and cheap printing.
People of the ‘nati unite. You will need to demand Versus, because it isn’t just going to magically come to you.

According to Cavin, today’s teleconference will be about the league moving to Versus next year for all but five races.
If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. For the first time in the history of this blog, though, the three letters the fanatics used for Tony George almost made it into print. I may not be able to watch races at this point.
Update: Kentucky is almost a sell-out. Unrelated? Nope. Cincinnati is a market that is dominated by Time Warner Cable and doesn’t get Versus. Also, Mid-Ohio had great turn out. Well, I think Columbus is Time Warner country, too.
