It’s Thursday Morning; Time for Your Flintstone Vitamin
Some quick morning tidbits.
First, PCM obviously isn’t making the grid any time soon, but Ryan Dalziel has signed on with SAMAX to drive a Grand-Am car. He had a number of top 10s for PCM last season, and generally outperformed the owners boss and his teammate, Alex Figge. He was bumped out of his ride the last two races for Mario Dominguez, who brought money and was a home-country favorite for Mexico.
I was approached by IndyCar Series Magazine marketing to plug their 2008 Fan Guide. While I was a little apprehensive, since I’ve sold out and all and they weren’t offering me anything, it actually looks pretty good from what I’ve seen of it thusfar. Note that it has dates for Edmonton and Surfers Paradise as Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, October 26 respectively. These are the same as in the media guide.
Long Beach is going to have a robot race of some sort.
Sam Schmidt is going scuba diving. If I’ve never said it before, I’ll say it here. Sam is the man. While his crash testing at the Mickyard was clearly tragic, he lives life to its absolute fullest. There is no what could have been with him, because he doesn’t want it to be that way.
Oh, I also have been forgetting to mention this. Pablo Donoso, who was once (justifiably) rumored to be running a second Foyt car, has been confirmed for an IPS Indy Lights seat with SWE racing.
