Fast Friday Notes & Weather
Kevin Lee is doing Up to Speed Live on the stream as a write. This will be a quick, probably incomplete, update as I leave for the ‘Nati shortly and will be working my way up to Indianapolis early tomorrow. If you are going out to the track tomorrow, and you see a kid in a white cafe press is it May yet? polo, be sure to stop me and say hello.
There’s a little disturbance that has developed over eastern Missouri and western Illinois that is bringing a little bit of rain. It’s pretty light, but fairly widespread. The first rain bands may not be reaching the ground, as I cannot find any reports that correlate to the first bands. Behind the initial bands, though, it looks as if the heaviest rain might go just south of the track. Expect a lot of action early, though, as this system may hamper the mid- and late-afternoon.
Miller has an article on parts shortages. HVM and PCM both are noted as being very short-handed. On Indy Live the other night, Scheckter admitted he doesn’t even have a T-car. Essentially, many drivers are taking it fairly safe to keep their cars in one piece. It does say that there is a lot of cooperation among the paddock to help each other out, though.
The green waves and four or five cars immediately took to the track. Marco is already up to 223.411.
OK, I’m out of here shortly, so I’ll hopefully have a forecast update tonight (tomorrow still looks good, Sunday still looks bad). Assuming the internet in the media center works tomorrow, I’ll have updates coming throughout the day tomorrow, so be forewarned and excited.
