It’s Monday and I’m Exhausted
Well, I already posted the big news of the day, which was Jeff Simmons signing on to run the #41 ABC Supply entry for Foyt.
In what may be interesting in what isn’t in the article, Derrick Walker gives an update today on his fact-finding adventures in A1GP, an international, team-by-country spec series. Rumors have been afloat about the potential of Walker Racing running/leasing/somehow being involved with the #77 Penske entry, perhaps with Paul Tracy. Well, his update doesn’t say a single word about Indianapolis. Is it because he is being tight-lipped, or is it because the rumors have no weight? I don’t have an answer on that. There was also no mention of hamburgers and/or hot dogs.
I read somewhere today that the Beck seat is down to Barron and Yasukawa, but I don’t remember where or how credible the comment was.
There’s an interesting read on Cleveland from a few days back. Apparently Mike Lanigan, the race’s promoter, was pleading his case, along with the case of Houston, to the league with Jerry Gappens of Loudon.

Yeah, I happened to see that on Walker’s site, too. There have been too many mentions of the Walker/Penske/Tracy rumor to dismiss it as fake. Also, Walker’s website is not the most up to date as to what he’s up to at the minute. I really am wondering if we’ll see any of the Champ Car tracks most of its fans want to see continue with, other than Long Beach. That would be Portland, Cleveland, Toronto, Laguna Seca, and in a way, Milwaukee.

Lanigan should just shut up and concentrate on his race team. Like getting real sponsors with sponsor activation and putting REAL number numbers on his race cars NOT 06 or 02 but anything 1-99 !!
