TK To TCGR?
Robin Miller is reporting that TK will be on his way to Target Chip Ganassi Racing. If true, it leaves Dan Wheldon and Alex Lloyd in odd situations. Wheldon would be expected to go play the role of veteran at Andretti Green Racing, but AGR has Rafa Matos and Franck Montagny sitting around in different places itching for a ride. Wheldon’s lack of performance on road courses has left him in Dixon’s wake. Lloyd hasn’t had the chance to even run, and I think that his contract would likely be terminated unless Ganassi can farm him out.
I can’t really see Wheldon going to AGR, but I don’t know where else he’d fit in. He’s a good driver, but I don’t know that he’ll get paid what he’s used to at any team other than the big three. He’s a good driver, but he doesn’t have a check in hand. That puts him in an awkward situation.

This is all part of Chip’s diabolical plan to eventually sign EVERY driver in the series to a contract. It’s so crazy it might just work!

If this is true I hope he does well at CGR. His current employer was a once proud team that has become totally dysfunctional. It employs two drivers who know that they will never be fired.
The person I fell most sorry for is Green, imagine seeing your legacy trashed by two petulant “personalities”.

peterg: i totall agree w/ you about kim green. granted he wouldn’t have this “legacy” without michael andretti… but look how far this team has declined. it’s really sad. at one point i was sort of sick of the “agr love” that wheldon, franchitti, herta and kanaan had… but looking back! that’s exactly what kept me an irl fan and made me become an agr fan. kim green is in an awful spot. can’t fire the co-owners son and can’t even think about letting the “princess” go and truthfully can’t even think about losing mutoh because of all of his honda money. i can’t cheer for agr as a team like i used to… it didn’t matter to me which of the “fab four” won. but i still always cheer for TK. he’s still my favorite.
