Another Team Disrespects Alabama
Hey, I can’t rail these guys too bad. I mean, I just left Alabama and have no intention to return there either. That said, Barber is a fantastic facility, and I think it’s kind of, well, rude for a lot of these teams to just decide that they’ll go test elsewhere instead of participating in the official league open test, particularly at a facility that is going to promote it. I mean, it’s a test, and they’re going to PROMOTE it. It isn’t like Homestead, Sebring, or Daytona ever did an ounce of promotion for a TEST.
Foyt and 3G had already said they wouldn’t be there. Well, in addition to those two, HVM and Conquest have also said that they won’t make the test. At this point, it’s only roughly ten cars beyond the test they had back in late 2007. Well, I was at that test in late 2007, and I will say that it was amazing how many people were there. It was, honestly, one of the best experiences I’ve had as a race fan.
Now, HVM says that they’re going to privately test with two cars, needing the extra time to get a second ready for Ryan Hunter-Reay. If he gets the second seat, it’s alright by me. Conquest isn’t in great shape, but supposedly things may be getting slightly more optimistic for Tags.
So, if there is anyone reading this who is in that area (that isn’t Thomas), go. It’s an absolutely beautiful facility.
I mean, before then, who knew Helio Castroneves loved potato chips so much?
