Indy Race Control Preview
Well, I got the videos for a preview, and really, they’re just in-car shots from last year. It isn’t surprising, really, since there isn’t much to work with quite yet since it hasn’t gone live. Here’s my take.
First, permanent in-car views themselves are totally worth it to me. I’ve got a laptop that I can have on my lap while I watch the race. The big question regarding this, though, is if there will be radio to go along with it. The videos hint that they will, but don’t necessarily confirm it. According to a representative from media zone, driver radio audio should be available. I don’t necessarily know what should means, though.
The next offer is near-realtime telemetry. I love data, so it was another selling point for me.
A quick-look of their setup is viewable here, but it isn’t interactive. Could it be a little cleaner? Probably. That said, I’ll take what I can get.
Here are some promotional videos they’ve assembled from last year’s in-car footage:
This preview isn’t necessarily the preview I was hoping to give you. I thought I might have more. Thus, I’ll give you a full rundown Sunday on how I feel about the service. I have high hopes for it for sure. If you’re skeptical, I’ll let you know how I feel after-the-fact.
